Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Vannary Kong. Vannary is a senior at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis where she is studying Political Science and International Relations.
Vannary’s favorite NSCS experience has been being able to represent the society at events around the world. Vannary says that her NSCS membership has opened up many doors for her during her college career. “I have been asked to speak at an international summit called One Young World Summit representing the United States of America,” she said. “I have also been accepted to participate in the Lyon Model United Nations conference in France as an American Ambassador.”
In the future, Vannary hopes to work as an international diplomat for the United Nations. Currently, Vannary contributes to her community by serving as president of her NSCS chapter and by tutoring local children. “I use NSCS gear while I tutor elementary school children who are reading below grade level,” she said. “The children love the gear because most of them cannot afford school supplies.”
For her contributions to her community and NSCS, Vannary is our Scholar of the Week! Congratulations!
