Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Susan Avenengo! Susan is a student at Southern New Hampshire University- Online where she majors in mental health psychology.

As a member of NSCS, Susan’s favorite experience has been participating in community service projects. “The service projects available through NSCS are one of the many reasons I am honored to belong to this esteemed honor society. NSCS supports a vast network of ambitious scholars and humanitarians on collective and individual journeys to impact social change and justice,” said Susan. “NSCS members have access to empowering study abroad programs and scholarships that breathe life into academic pursuits and promote longitudinal success.”

Honoring the pillars of scholarship and service, Susan has integrated her knowledge with community service projects that she has been involved with, which inspired her career pursuits in a major way.

“My undergraduate studies as an NSCS scholar have imparted the importance of a holistic view of the individual and community. The projects and research that I have participated in have further developed my appreciation of community psychology and wellness,” said Susan. “Belonging to NSCS inspired me to think outside of the box. I look forward to matriculating as a graduate student and drawing upon my experiences with NSCS.”
