Charles Baumann, Hannibal Mo, recently received the Arts and Science Scholarship from the College of Arts and Science at the University of Missouri. Scholarship recipients are nominated by MU faculty members and exemplify academic merit and altruism.
“Being nominated and awarded this scholarship means very much to me,” Baumann said. “Hard work and achievement are the fundamental principles of the American dream. Being noticed and commended for my hard work is great.”
A 2013 graduated of Hannibal High School, Baumann currently is a junior at MU studying biological sciences. He is a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society, Tau Sigma National Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. In addition, Baumann is Lester R. Bryant Scholar, a lab researcher at MU’s Comparative Orthopedic Laboratory and is presenting his research at the 2016 Orthopedic Research Society annual meeting. He is a son of Richard and Deborah Baumann.
MU is the largest and oldest university of the state’s major public, land-grant research institutions.
