Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Riham Alabed! Riham is a sophomore biomedical engineering major at the University of Akron.

As a member of NSCS, Riham values the recognition of her hard work. “Joining NSCS made me realize how much work I put into my studies. I have always wanted to excel academically, but I never credited myself enough for all the effort I put in. So, my favorite NSCS experience was when I received the induction ceremony invitation letter as it made me feel recognized, proud, and grateful.”

On top of being a NSCS scholar, Riham is also a research assistant for graduate students, and she is on both the President’s list and the Dean’s list.

Riham also has a wide variety of interests outside of biomedical engineering. “I enjoy meeting new people from different backgrounds. My favorite thing to do as a student is to solve Calculus while listening to good music. I love going on adventures and I love Penguins!”

For being a dedicated NSCS member, a high achiever and a constant adventurer, Riham is our Scholar of the Week!
