After developing Scholars on the Map, we realized just how many of our members were studying in different countries all over the world! Last month, NSCS chapters across the nation were challenged to create and host an on-campus event promoting Global Awareness. The National Leadership Council (NLC) developed this program to promote awareness of other cultures and traditions, and to encourage more students to consider studying abroad.

We received many outstanding submissions, with events engaging more than 600 students, but the NSCS chapter at Richland College in Dallas, Texas stood out. Their chapter coordinated a week long social media campaign with fun facts from across the world, and then engaged their members with a Global Awareness trivia game at an end-of-the-year banquet where they had over 200 people attend! The chapter will receive $500 to go towards chapter events and activities.

Congratulations, Richland College!
