Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Marian Matalka! Marian is a sophomore at Wayne State University, where she is a Pre-Pharmacy major.
Marian’s favorite NSCS experience was her Induction Ceremony. “I got to meet unforgettable people who I would be working with to benefit our community and to push towards excellence in our academic path,” she says. “It was at that ceremony that I felt NSCS is more of a family and a friendship group rather than just strictly an honor organization.”
Marian was born in Jordan and moved to America with her family for better opportunities. “It was difficult to learn a new language and culture,” she says. “However, it was all worth it. I still have my struggles in the English language, but I push myself to strive and improve. I do not see myself being anywhere else other than right here in America.”
For her dedication to her studies, Marian is our Scholar of the Week! Congratulations!
