Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Jennifer Trabucco! Jennifer is a senior at Ramapo College of New Jersey, where she is a Biochemistry major.

Jennifer’s favorite NSCS experience was being a part of the International Scholar Laureate Program’s delegation on medicine and science in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. “I was lucky to have been given the opportunity through NSCS,” she says. “I was able to learn so much about the Australian healthcare system and health disparities amongst the native Aboriginal people. I was able to connect with peers from across the country and even those from abroad.”

Jennifer has participated in 3 years’ worth of independent research at her college, winning this year’s award at the William Patterson Research Symposium for the Biological Sciences section. “I completed an internship at an organic synthesis company last summer and am currently a part of CUNY’s Summer Undergraduate Research Program,” she says. “I also run a theatre company in my spare time. The proceeds from our productions go towards local charities. From our past shows we were able to raise money for local high schools and a 24/7 women’s shelter in Monmouth County.”

For her scholarly ambition and her assistance to her community, Jennifer is our Scholar of the Week! Congratulations!
