Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Cristina Druta! Cristina is a student at The University of Alabama at Birmingham where she majors in accounting.

As a member of NSCS, Cristina’s favorite experience has been being recognized for her academic achievement. “My favorite NSCS experience was when I got an email invitation. It was my second year in the USA and my first year at University of Alabama at Birmingham. At first, I thought I didn’t read the email properly, so I kept looking at the words and reassuring myself that it was an invitation to join NSCS,” said Cristina. “It was a great feeling receiving an invitation because English is my fourth language and I’ve been trying really hard to do well in school in hopes of pursuing a career that will allow me to make my dreams true.”

On top of being an NSCS scholar, Cristina has also lived in many different countries.

“A few days after I’ve received an invitation from NSCS in January, I celebrated my 30th Birthday and went to Italy to celebrate with my family and friends for both occasions,” said Cristina. “At 18 years old, I moved to Milan, Italy, and spoke five different languages. Since then, I’ve traveled every year so my passion for language and travel has never died down. Having these experiences have allowed me to keep an open mind, which I believe is the only way that I can grow and learn.”

For being a dedicated NSCS member and a high achiever, Cristina is our Scholar of the Week!
