Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Ashley Graves! Ashley is a sophomore at Howard University, where she is a Management major.
Ashley’s favorite NSCS experience has been becoming a mentor to a high school student through The Society of Torch & Laurel mentorship program. “I love being a mentor since it gives me the opportunity to reflect on my own transition to college and help my mentee avoid any pitfalls and reach their goals,” she says. “As a college student, it’s difficult to think of myself as someone capable of being a mentor, but this experience has helped me tremendously.”
Ashley has maintained many extracurricular and professional development activities, “including the Sponsor for Educational Opportunity’s EDGE Program, Howard University’s Professional Activities Committee, and the Morgan Stanley Mentorship Program,” she says. “One of my most significant activities is the School of Business Executive Leadership (SBEL) Honors Program, which prepares business students by providing us with honors classes, chances for case studies, and networking with corporate sponsors.”
For her service to future college scholars, Ashley is our Scholar of the Week! Congratulations!
