Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, John Scurto! John is a student at Florida Atlantic University where he majors in business management.
As a member of NSCS, John’s favorite experience has been being surrounded by people who strive for excellence, such as himself. “My favorite NSCS experience has been surrounding myself around like-minded individuals who want to get involved in our organization. Not only do our members want to better themselves in their own personal leadership and academic growth, but our members truly care about making a meaningful impact in the community,” said John. “There is nothing better than seeing FAU NSCS members come together to make a difference in the lives of people who need our help.”
Honoring the NSCS pillars of scholarship and leadership, John dedicates his time to developing his leadership skills while being a student at FAU.
“I joined NSCS as a freshman and currently, as a junior, I am the Vice President of the FAU NSCS chapter, an FAU Elite Owl Leadership and Service Ambassador, a Certified Student Leader, and the 2017 Valedictorian of FAU’s University Honors Program,” said John. “NSCS gave me an opportunity to develop and apply myself as a student leader, which ultimately made me grow as a person.”
