The newest way to tone your body, Pure Barre, is up and coming. Carrie Rezabek Dorr founded this new work out. She started with just one studio and managed to make Pure Barre known throughout the nation. Pure Barre became a franchise in July 2009, and now has locations nationwide. Due to its popularity and results from the workout, Pure Barre studios are continuing to be built today.

It is claimed that Puree Barre quickly can improve the shape of your body. It “lifts your seat, tones your thighs, abs and arms and burns fat” by using isometric movements at the ballet barre. Therefore, Pure Barre is a total body workout that protects joints. There is no jumping or bouncing involved. Instead, each strengthening exercise is followed by stretching, which lengthens out the muscles and allows them to recover from fatigue.

Pure Barre is an intense workout that requires concentration. The instructors push you to improve your body and mind, and they expect you to put in maximum effort. They encourage you to block out your life problems and fully concentrate on the exercise at hand. They want you to focus on the muscle you are strengthening, and feel the muscle working. It is their hope that you leave the class feeling proud and relaxed.

I have been to a Pure Barre class, and it’s like no other workout I’ve experience before. I frequently attend toning classes, and usually do not struggle in them. Pure Barre, however, is so unique that my muscles were aching a few minutes into each exercise. Even the warm up fatigued me a little. Yet, nothing about this class was negative. The pain was refreshing and invigorating, as I knew I was working my muscles like they have never been worked before. The atmosphere created by the music and the instructors allowed me to push myself, and when it is over I was satisfied. I encourage you to look up Pure Barre if there is a location near you and work your body in a new way.
