How to Use Your Passion for Beauty to Help Pay for College

Have you ever wondered how your passion for beauty could help you pay for college? Then being a mark. representative is the job for you! Even if you are busy with classes, work, and/or extracurriculars, mark. can fit into your schedule because you sell the beauty products on your own time. According to Kelsey, a mark. mentor, “It’s perfect for the college lifestyle because there’s no risk and no set time commitments. You put into it what you want….so, if during midterms or finals weeks you want to take a break, that’s completely okay!  Then, when you have more time to dedicate to your business, you can!”

Kelsey

Other than helping you pay for college, becoming a mark. representative has many benefits. It is a great opportunity to meet more people in college. Kelsey said, “I’ve done events for sororities, dorm floors, and for campus philanthropic events.  I’m able to strike up conversations with people that I may have never had the chance to talk to before!”  Also, the community of mark. reps is very close-knit, so you can become friends with people all across the country. Being a mark. rep will give you entrepreneurial business experience, which can be a valuable addition to your resume. It shows “your drive and motivation to do well at things outside your normal college-girl routine—and going after what you love,” said Kelsey. Plus, you have the opportunity to receive awards and recognition when you do well.

10 Easy, Guy-Friendly Steps to Dressing Well

As a high school senior I would often fantasize about what college guys would be like and how they would put high school boys to shame in both style and maturity.  Turns out, they don’t. They still think farts are funny, they still play video games for way too long and they still think jeans and a t-shirt are appropriate in every situation.

After only a year of college under my belt I’ve seen way too many guys wearing the same giant t-shirts with the same smelly sneakers with the same old jeans to not reach out a helping hand. Let me help you!

Fall 2011 Beauty Trends

MAC's Korean Candy

Fall is approaching and with it comes the deeper, warmer colored cosmetics that lay in the back of our drawers. I’m here to report to you what the latest trends in makeup are. From the runway to the fall collections of department store cosmetics, here is the run down.

Ralph Lauren Fall 2011 Runway

One color that keeps popping up on the runway again and again, despite the change of the seasons, is orange. My personal favorite way to wear them is on the lips. Pick a warmer gold toned orange like NYX’s 507 or a reddish orange like MAC’s new Korean Candy. If you aren’t ready to try the lipstick, you could always start with a more sheer gloss like NARS’ Wonder lip gloss or NYX’s Orange Sparkle lip gloss.
