Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Lauren Burcheri! Lauren is a senior at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey where she is studying Labor Studies and Employment Relations.

Lauren’s favorite part about being an NSCS member is including it as an honor on her resume. “Membership in this society vastly distinguishes me from other candidates and I think it speaks a lot to my academic background as well as my consistent level of dedication to my studies,” she said. “I take a lot of pride in what I have accomplished and I look forward to the upcoming opportunities I am offered due to my membership in this elite academic society.”

When Lauren first started college, she struggled with deciding what she wanted to study. “I was fortunate enough to have had an incredible professor in my introductory labor studies course. Ever since I have been happily studying at The School of Management and Labor Relations,” she said. “My studies have primarily focused on the formation and history of labor unions, collective bargaining, employment law, negotiations, the treatment of special populations in the workplace, as well as the gender gap, the glass ceiling, and the differing perceptions of women and men throughout all levels of the workplace.”

For her academic achievement and commitment to NSCS, Lauren is our Scholar of the Week! Congratulations!
