Scholar of the Week: Jessica Walter

Scholar of the Week: Jessica Walter

Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Jessica Walter! Jessica is a recent graduate of The University Michigan, where she was a Biology major.

Jessica’s favorite NSCS experience was participating in an NSCS Alternative Spring Break. “Fellow members and I traveled to Atlanta, GA, to volunteer at an International Community School,” she says. “During this event, I assisted 4th grade teachers in their teaching and management of this amazing and diverse group of children. In our off-time, we got to explore the educational contributions of Atlanta, like the Georgia Aquarium and the Stone Mountain Memorial.”

Jessica’s trip to Georgia inspired her to “attempt medical school and hopefully a career in the rural or urban GA area to help economically disadvantaged people gain access to medical care,” she says. “Without NSCS, I would never have participated so extensively in my community or met so many amazing people who have impacted my life.”

For her drive to better the lives of others, Jessica is our Scholar of the Week! Congratulations!
