Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Ian Braun! Ian is a sophomore at Western Washington University where he majors in political science.

As a member of NSCS, Ian values being a member of an intellectually stimulating community. “NSCS has showed me that community organization around intellectual growth can lead to an atmosphere that helps accelerate and reward individuals who give their intellectual best,” said Ian. “As a recently elected Executive Vice-President I have already seen my fellow officers’ ingenuity on how to best give back to our local community while spreading the word on NSCS and all that it can do.”

On top of being a NSCS scholar, Ian has started an app development company in addition to his work in behavioral therapy. “I work as a Behavioral Therapist helping kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder, hyper-aggressive behaviors, or non-verbal capabilities,” he said.

Ian is also currently conducting research in South Africa. “I am conducting research on the reactionary and anarchical movements who are against the post-apartheid government in South Africa, the methodologies they possess, and the organizational structure within their groups,”

For being a dedicated NSCS member, a caring behavioral therapist, and a student entrepreneur, Ian is our Scholar of the Week!
