Meet our NSCS Scholar of the Week, Fredielyn Cunanan! Fredielyn is a graduate student at East Carolina University where she majors in biotechnology.
As a member of NSCS, Fredielyn’s favorite experience is being surrounded by inspirational members of NSCS and being able to access NSCS’s academic resources.
“I’d like to write a testimony on how NSCS contributed to my success throughout my college life. Given the scholastic struggles, the excitement and enjoyment outweighed the stress as I am surrounded by the brightest, determined, and best fellow students who are in this honor society,” said Fredielyn. “The leadership stories, motivation, and inspiration shared among the members are extraordinary and stand out from the other groups, and indeed, make a constructive impact in an individual’s life. NSCS is also a great avenue to give back to the community and create a big difference in someone’s day.”
Honoring the NSCS pillar of scholarship, Fredielyn has received an AAS and a BS, by the age of 22 while also holding a job at a pharmaceutical company.
“I graduated high school at the age of 15 years old due to grade acceleration. As soon as I turned 16, I was so excited to be sitting in a classroom again. Two years later, I completed my AAS in Biopharmaceutical Technology from my local community college. A year later, I decided to go back to school to earn a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology,” said Fredielyn. “Soon after graduation, I received a job promotion, and I knew I wanted to pursue an advanced degree. The fruit of my hard work from high school up to undergrad finally grew, and now I’m able to take classes at Harvard Extension School. I am in the Biotechnology program and hoping to earn my Master’s Degree by June of 2019.”
For upholding the pillar of scholarship and being super determined in her endeavors, Fredielyn is our Scholar of the Week!
