The University of Akron’s chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars inducted 100 academically talented students at a ceremony Sept. 28 in the ballrooms in the Student Union.
The honor society recognizes the achievements of high achieving first- and second-year students with a 3.4 or higher GPA (placing them in the top 20 percent of students nationally).
The 470 chapter members this fall serve the university through leadership, community service and scholarship. They participate in leadership retreats and outreach programs and benefit from scholarship opportunities.
